1. Will the laptop run at all on battery power? If so, we can more than likely rebuild the battery and you can skip to #4.

2. Leave the battery in the laptop with the laptop off and plugged in to an outlet overnight. Then, with the laptop off and the battery in it, open the laptop so that you can see the screen and unplug the laptop from the outlet. While watching the lights on the laptop and the screen, turn the laptop on. If any light flickers or the screen flickers or the laptop runs for any amount of time at all, even for just a second, then the electronics inside the battery are ok and the battery can be more than likely be rebuilt and you can skip to #4.

3. Check to see if the laptop 'recognizes' the battery. Some have a battery icon that will come up in the system tray at the bottom right corner of your screen when the laptop has a battery in it. Sometimes you have to go into the power or battery settings in Control Panel to determine if there is a battery present. Sometimes it is as easy as a light that comes on when you attach the battery to the laptop. If the laptop 'recognizes' the battery, then the battery can more than likely be rebuilt, move on to #4.

4. Why do we keep saying 'it can more than likely be rebuilt'? That is because on VERY rare occasions, when we open the battery, a cell has leaked onto the electronics and the electronics have been damaged to the point that they are currently working but if we remove them, they could break. 'Hanging by a thread', as it were... If this happens, we will not be able to rebuild the battery and we can either 1. offer you a full refund of the price of the rebuild (we cannot refund the price of the shipping) or 2. offer you a discount on a new battery (if one is available).

I understand that there is a chance that by opening the pack it can be cracked or otherwise damaged in such a way that would make the pack un repairable and un useable. I also understand that if the pack becomes damaged and BatteryCountry.com is not able to rebuild it, I will be issued a refund for the full price paid for the rebuild (shipping cannot be refunded) and the damaged pack will be sent back to me if I wish. I am willing to allow BatteryCountry.com to attempt to repair it and accept this risk and if damage occurs, will not hold BatteryCountry.com, it's parent company, affiliates, sub contractors, employees or owners accountable for anything more than issuing a full refund and returning the damaged pack.
