Most rechargeable batteries can be recycled. To find out if your battery is rechargeable, look for the following chemical names or abbreviations somewhere on the battery: NiCd, Nickel Cadmium, Pb, Lead, SLA, Sealed Lead Acid, Gel Cell, NiMH, Nickel Metal Hydride. Most non-rechargeable batteries can be disposed of in your local landfill. Restrictions vary, so to make sure call your local solid waste authority for more details.
